Life update. [Summer, birthday, school and music]

Hey guys, sorry for not updating in forever! Been a bit busy which is rare so I've taken advantage of it.

The summer holidays were amazing as I got to see my friends but I also went away for 3 weeks to Scotland and it was lovely. I got to get away from everything that was bothering me back in England and I felt so relaxed. I went to the beach every day and there were even some hot sunny days which are rare in Scotland !
           Beautiful view in Scotland.

I got home and went to see one of my best friends Charlotte, we ended up filming a video for her YouTube channel which was so funny to film and I had so much fun.  This is the link to the video we did : http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YKgyn-KtwtI

I actually turned 16 on Saturday 7th of
September, I had such a brilliant birthday
as I got to see all my friends on the
weekdays before and then I got to spend
my birthday with my family and we had
a lovely meal! I'd like to thank everyone for
making my birthday so special !

I'm now in my final year of GCSE'S at year 11 and yes it is quite stressful to just think about it but I just want to get it over and done with so I can go study music at college. I know that science isn't going to go well for me so I've sort of already given up. I have my maths GCSE in November so I've started to revise as I need maths for college.

I'm soon going to start a new YouTube channel for covers and eventually my own music. These will hopefully be starting soon and I can't wait as I want
to start performing more and share my own music with you! I will inform you all when this happens though. If you know of any gigs or open mic nights going on
in Kent then please let me know through twitter or just comment below.

And last but not least, I recommend that you all go check out You Me At Six's new song 'Lived A Lie' as it is amazing and I'm in love with it! For an album to check out this month it has to be 'Old Souls' by Deaf Havana. It's beautiful and there isn't one bad song on the album.

I hope you're all well and you have a lovely week
and weekend!

Xx

Sinful Colors [Nail Varnish Review]

Hello again, the other day I went out shopping with some friends and decided to buy myself some new nail varnishes. If you're like me and don't have a lot of money to spare then these 'Sinful Colors' nail varnishes are perfect for you!
(I apologise for my weird hand and how terrible I am at painting my nails)

I bought two different colours on that day and they were called 'Hazard ' which is and orange/coral colour which I really like, and 'Unicorn ' which is an almost pastel yellow colour. This is the colour on the bottle above.

These nail varnishes are really bright and have a great coverage which last very long. I can't wait to buy some new colours such as blues and greens.

As I was saying these were at reasonable prices, I bought these in boots and as they were on offer I managed to get the pair for £2.98 which is brilliant considering the amazing outcome!

Boots Natural Collection [Make Up Review]

The 3 'Natural Collection' items I'll be reviewing

Hey, so this is a bit of a different post from me today but I thought I'd give it a shot?

About 2-3 weeks ago I went out shopping with my friend Danni and I thought I'd buy my first piece's of make up! As it was going to be my first try with make up I decided to go for something simple and nothing too daring, and the Boots Natural Collection range seemed like the perfect choice to make, and with a 3 for 2 deal who could say no?!

Duo Eyeshadow:
I started by picking up an eyeshadow duo pack, there were a wide variety colours to choose from but I decided to go with the simple colours. In hope that this eyeshadow would blend out on my eyelid, unfortunately I found the brown a bit too dark for me. However this may just be my view. I'm probably going to be using the white more often as it makes you look more awake!
So overall this product for me has its ups and downs.

Pressed Powder - Foundation:
I also picked up this powder foundation which I planned to rarely use just on my nose as I have quite an oily nose so I thought this would help hide it? I bought the palest tone as I am extremely pale! And at no fault of the product it can sometimes make me look a bit orange! So if you are extremely pale it may be safe looking at other brands. Overall though this gives a good coverage and is great to use quickly as a cover up in the morning!

Nail Polish - 'Nail Colour':

This was my personal favourite buy of the day! I'd only ever painted my nails once before I bought this and I really didn't find it easy at all! However this is a really nice nail varnish to apply. With such a natural colour it even means I can wear it to school, which is a bonus! With applying this I have learnt how I need to be more patient with nail varnish as I keep smudging it after my first layer! I usually do 2 layers with this but 3 layers gives a much bolder nice finish, it all depends on the amount of time and patience you have!

Overall these three products were a good buy for my basic beginner make up set. The only faults are either due to my abnormally pale skin or the colours that suit you and what overall look you are going for. I'm very happy with my purchase and I hope this gives you an idea on this collection of makeup!

Feel free to leave a comment telling me what you think of these products if you've ever used them. Or even recommend some make up to me to try out :)

Back with lots to say! [I'm sorry]

I'm so sorry it's been 3 months! I am terrible and such a procrastinator. However I do have multiple reasons as to why I haven't posted in a while which I will explain to you all now.

These past few months have been up and down with emotions with school work and even with my day to day routine. However, this has given me the push I needed to sit down and think 'what am I even doing with my life?!' The answer is still not in tact but I'm sure of one thing, I'm not happy with what I've become and how I go through my day to day life.

I want to start making the most of life, not sat at home eating junk food and daydreaming of what I wish I was doing, I'm gonna start doing and not dreaming! Even if it's just going out onto a field with some friends and playing guitar and singing, it would be a better day than sat at home doing nothing. At the end of the day I want to be a musician I want to write, record and produce my own album one day which I can tour with. But along with needing to be capable of playing some  sort of instrument the music industry I believe is also based a lot on 'who you know, not what you know' and the way I'm going I'm never going to meet new people or get to a social point where I'm comfortable talking to new people.

Daydreaming by Paramore off of their new album 'Paramore'

Anyway so yeah hopefully with this new mindset I'll have more to blog about? Pretty sweet eh?

Plans for the blog

Photo I made using 'So Wrong It's Right' album silhouette on a painted background.

As I haven't even written about going to see All Time Low in February yet I feel like there is a lot to catch you up on. So this next week I'm gonna have at least another 3 blog posts up hopefully, so keep your eyes peeled on my twitter and tumblr to hear when they're up!

Find me on

Thank you for reading, until next time...

Album and Song of the Month [January 2013]

This is a little section on my blog where I am going to review a song and an album that I have enjoyed the most this month. I'll do this at the end of every month!

Song:  Now - Paramore:

This song was released on January 22nd, at first I really didn't like the song. The first lines 'Don't try to take this from me' I still don't find myself to be able to listen to without thinking 'What is this?' the way Hayley sings it doesn't agree with my ears. Despite this I gave it another few listens because Paramore have been one those bands who have been here through the majority of my life. After a good few listens the song started to grow on me and I really hope that the whole entire song will in fact grow on me. I have had it on repeat for a few days and I am beginning to fall in love with it!

Despite that tiny moan this song is catchy and I really do love it, the instrumental work is incredible, you can obviously almost hear a little hole where the farro's left but they have grown stronger since then and I'm so glad they've pulled through with an amazing single for their new album! April 9th please hurry up!

Album: Fools And Worthless Liars - Deaf Havana:

I know this didn't come out this month, but I got this album for Christmas and I have fallen in love with it. Every song has such meaning to it that it can bring you so many emotions, it's a real good album to sit down and listen to whilst doing some homework. To pick a favourite overall on this album is literally impossible for me, I can connect to every song  and each one has a line or a verse in it that I think 'wow, that is so meaningful' or 'I completely relate to that'  However I'm going to write a bit about two of the songs on there that really stand out for me at the moment.

The Past Six Years - I fell in love with this song in the first second, the guitar is beautiful and how it is almost jumpy yet calm? The line 'These days my friends aren't who they used to be' I really related to the first time I listened to this, I think that the words of this song really do connect to a lot of young people which is why it's such a good song.  It's really hard to explain how much I have fallen in love with this song, just the way they've fitted the whole song together really is  amazing. I really recommend you give it a listen!

Anemophobia - This is a song that a lot of teenagers or even young adults can relate to most (I am not saying older people can't relate to it) I could write about every single line of this song, but instead I'll write about a particular few lines that really stand out for me every time I listen to this song.

I need to get away
From this place, 'cause my outlooks' changed
Along with how I speak and I'm really not the same as I used to be
I'm always living in my head and I can't remember when, I last felt alive.

I'm going to sound like an english teacher who over analyses everything now but this is how I think about it when I hear these lyrics. I think the whole verse can connect to the title of the song 'The Past Six Years' Saying how he has changed and how much is different. I can compare this to myself this time last year, I now speak completely differently, even my choice of words. I do live in my head a lot, always saying I'll do things when really I'll sit at home watching Disney and tweeting about how boring my life is. This song really does mean a lot to me and I'm sure it does to a lot of other Deaf Havana fans!

So yeah this is the album I think you need to pick up and give a listen, it's worth the money, I promise you!

Until next time

A New Start

Now I know that at the beginning of each year everyone begins to complain about people saying, 'new year new me.' I must admit I am one of those complainers. Who needs it to be a new year to realize you need a fresh start?

There are multiple reasons why I am starting this blog, and I am about to go through them with you.

First of all, I feel that when I look back over 2012 I only manage to remember the bad and really struggle to remember the good. Now 2012 may not have been my best year yet but it certainly had some amazing memories. I went to see loads of my favourite bands including You Me At Six, All Time Low and Coldplay.

Secondly, I find myself to end up sitting around doing nothing a lot of the time. I'm a huge procrastinator and even though this blog won't help finish my coursework it will help to take up wasted time.

My main reason for starting this blog though, is because I really need a fresh start. The past year has been one of the toughest years of my life. Despite the amazing high moments I have been at rock bottom for days, even months on end. I have realized how much I sit around and waste time feeling upset over things that have gone wrong, but who says that I can't set them right?

I am going to set myself some goals that at the end of this year I want to have achieved. I would call these resolutions but I don't believe they are resolutions, more goals.

1. Start thinking positively more often - for those who follow me on twitter will know that I spend a lot of time upset and having negative thoughts. This year I want to be able to put a spin on that and view things from a different perspective.

2. Say 'yes' to more opportunities - I am a huge one to cancel plans and say no to things that could benefit me in my life. I want to start going out more and even going ahead with plans I have made myself.

3. Write more songs - This is one I'm really going to struggle with. Despite the fact I want to be a musician when I grow up, I really struggle with writing songs, putting emotions in to words is something I really can't do as I'm not one to open up to people that often. By the end of the year I want to have written at least another 4 songs.

4. Be happier with myself and what I may or may not achieve - Right now I am not the happiest with myself, I dislike my appearance, how I view things, the fact my paranoia and anxiety take over my life. I want to start making little changes to my appearance, not so far as surgery but I want to start to do little things to try and boost my confidence, even if it's just to wear a tiny bit of make up to cover up my insecurities on my face. I also want to start being proud of any achievements I may make and ever the ones I don't make. This may help with my outlook on things in life.

ANYWAY...
Thanks for reading, I hope this has maybe helped you to think through what you want to achieve by the end of 2013. Sorry for rambling on.

I hope you have a lovely day and I'll update soon!
